Course Description

This course is an advanced topics course in Aircraft Accident Investigation. It is offered from time to time when interesting and leading edge topics can be assembled and presented to investigators.

By generous invitation of the Iceland Board (RNF), SCSI is pleased to announce that it will be conducting an Advanced Aircraft Accident Investigation course in Reykjavik, Iceland, 12-14 January 2010. Enrollment for this course is now open for registration. The course will give a brief review of aircraft accident investigation topics, and then go into an advanced level presentation of information vital to those in the investigation field. Specifically, the course will cover response procedures and initial investigation steps, plus advanced subjects facing Annex 13 Investigations. Topics will include Electronic Component Investigations, System Safety and Investigations, Aging Aircraft Issues, Protection of Evidence, Human Factors Investigations and Confidentiality of Witnesses.

This course is designed for accident investigators who want to be current with various topics of interest to investigators.

  • The Board of Certified Safety Professionals accepts this course for Continuation of Certification Credit.
  • Counts towards the SCSI Certificate in Aircraft Accident Investigation.

Course Administration

This course will be conducted a the Icelandair Hotel Loftleidir, Reykjavik, on 12-14 January 2010. Classes begin daily at 0800 and end at 1700. Tuition is $850.
