Clint Summers has more than 25 years of experience in military, commercial and civil aviation. With a foundation in aircraft maintenance and flight testing, Clint has more than 1500 hours as a crewman in the UH-1N, UH-1Y and AH-1W helicopters. Clint served as a H-1 crew chief, rotors and drive systems mechanic, Marine Enlisted Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) as well as weapons instructor at the School of Infantry. After more than two decades, he retired from the US Marine Corps and began work as part of H-1 Fleet Support Team (FST), Drive Systems Engineering, for Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) provided in-service engineering support H-1 helicopters. Recognized for his experience and innovative nature, Clint travels globally to support H-1 helicopter operations.
Having provided engineering support on numerous aircraft mishaps, he is experienced in mishap investigation and forensic analysis of aircraft and components. His investigation experience includes thousands of hours of shop and laboratory analysis of failed components to identify engineering and maintenance induced failures. Today he continues to serve and support his community as a pilot and cadet mentor for the United States Civil Air Patrol. Clint is co-owner and founder of Black Box Flight Training, LLC, holds Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies, a Master of Science in Space Studies and is an Instrument rated pilot.
